Ok I begged for it, I watched the weather forecast with fingers crossed....we got it....NOW GO AWAY!!! If I have to dress these kids ONE MORE TIME I might scream or start slipping some kahlua in my coffee in the morning. The kids are loving it and we've built a snowman, a snow wall, a horse (which was the snow wall), we've made ice cream out of snow, we've made rice krispie snowmen and we have sledded down every hill in the area. We got a decent ice storm this morning and part of a tree has come down, let's just pray that's the only thing that will come down. It was suppose to stop ice raining at noon but instead it turned to snow and hasn't stopped. It's insane, I've never seen it like this. It's definitely fun but I wish Scott was here to endure with me :) Always easier with another hand. Anywho, here are our photos from today.

Well we got our snow storm and it's been so fun. I'd say our neighborhood got about 5ish inches of snow overnight through mid morning. It's still coming down but more like drizzly-snow now. They say it's gonna start melting over night so we'll see. Dressing the kids to go outside is seriously a huge ordeal and so many freaking layers. For the love people, dress yourselves already!!! I front packed baby Wyatt and he got to go down the sled a few times. Now to say he enjoyed himself I wasn't sure but hey he didn't cry so we went with it. And seriously before this snow melts I've gotta throw Wyatt out there to get a picture!!!

I feel like a little girl reading the forecast every minute it changes, looking out the window, saying a little extra prayer we get some snow. It's so fun and we got some. It's not super super cold so the snow is a bit wetter than one would prefer but Syd and Ty have no preference and love it however it comes. We've been sledding and then they built a snowman with daddy. So fun!!

January - a new year has begun

I'm back to work 2 days a week (3 days in March), we've found an AWESEOME nanny, the kids love her, we aren't pregnant, and life is getting into a routine of sorts. It's a really nice feeling. The first couple of weeks back at work was a hard adjustment for all but now I think everyone is getting use to it. I'm learning that when I walk through the door to just be with the kids. Don't worry about cleaning up the kitchen or doing this or that, just be with the kids. That way everyone is happier. Our little Wyatt is growing like a week. He's 6 months now, rolls over like a crazy man (keep in mind none of my kids moved at this age), he's eating nonstop, he is super active, always grabbing at things and loves loves loves to watch his siblings. It's been such a fast 6 months and he's a fun little guy and this is the age that I start to love a ton. Their little personalities start to show some and if I had to guess for the future I'd say he's gonna be the toughest little guy out of them all. He seems to be pretty stubborn and strong willed......I suppose he just wants to make it clear he is to the be the last kid in the Herzog house :) Love to all and Happy New Year!

Had to post these videos from xmas. Great Aunt Helen got the kids a real live Jeep and it's hilarious watching them drive around. This is gonna be a HUGE hit come spring time. Ty is clueless and Syd is kinda getting it. Soon hopefully she can drive herself to school :)

Alabama and Aunt Janie visit

Well the Alabama crew finally made it to Seattle after a major snow storm delay in Denver. It was so fun to have them and Aunt Janie here to celebrate Xmas. We did lots of fun things but as usual just hanging out was the most fun. We kept on schedule even with our little hiccup :) Enjoy the pics

December and beyond

Had a fantastic holiday with friends and family. It's more and more fun every year with the kids as they "get" what's going on. It was awesome having Alabama and SpindleShank here to celebrate Christmas with us. We got to spend lots of time with Grammy and Grandpy as well. It was so great having them watch the kids so I could go back to work and help ALL of us ease into the transition. Thank you Grammy and Grandpy!!! Lots of things happened in December so enjoy!!

Syd had her first school program where we came and the kids sang a few xmas songs for us. She was very nervous, sat in her chair and not a sound came out of her but we were proud and I kinda got teary.....haha I'm crazy

A lot of nights leading up to xmas we watched some of the xmas classics on tv. This was our first year doing that, still a bit early but fun for me and that's what counts :)

About mid December we headed to Port Townsend for our annual Herzog Xmas get together. It's always great to be able to see everyone and we got great weather which is unheard of this time of year. The kids had a blast!!! with their cousins and all their aunts and uncles

I would have to say Colin is Ty's coolest in his eyes to hang with. He would wake up asking where Colin was. It was pretty darn cute.

Sunday was a busy day. We got our christmas tree, it was the first one we looked at....how weird is that. The kids weren't the most cooperative so it was a sign we found our tree right off the bat. We came home, painted some nails then decorated with hot chocolate. They say a sugar high is not a true thing.....I beg to differ.

A few randoms this month

Just a few other things going on the last few weeks. We have been keeping ourselves busy. Syd still loves school and is such a great helper with Wyatt. Her and Tyler are absolutely two peas in a pod. They play together, they fight together, they look for one another, they are just adorable together and it's so cool to see their relationship grow. Wyatt is doing great. He's trying to sit up on his own, loves to bounce, makes it known when he wants to be held and is just growing up to a baby baby, not a newborn baby anymore. Part of me is sad to see that little bity stage go but there is so much ahead of us that I will look forward and enjoy.

Thanksgiving in Longview

We spent a few days in Longview with Grammy and Grandpy, Aunt Helen, Aunt Lindy, Uncle Justin and McKenzie. It was a fun weekend and the kids had a blast baking and playing nonstop. Syd slept in a big girl bed with Aunt Helen and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. Thanksgiving was wonderful, Grammy always stuffs us to the gills so no one went unfed. Thanks Grammy and Grandpy for a great time!!

My little boy got shingles and needless to say this was a mommy moment I wasn't prepared for. Now it's all past us now, bloodwork showed no immunity issues so we can move forward but I'm not a fan of issues I can't control. But I will say walking into Childrens Hospital makes you say an extra prayer at night, that is for sure!!!

First Husky Basketball Game

It's hard to explain the amount of excitement in the house on the evening daddy took Syd and Ty to their first real basketball game. They were SO EXCITED!!! Daddy was so excited as well to do this with them. It was all Husky for the three of them. They still talk about this game a month later. It's amazingly wonderful to see these experiences through their eyes.

Sydney does such a great job showing her brothers not to be scared of things. I love it. She's such a great big sister. She had her first checkup and the dentist was awesome with both her and Ty. It was not the experience I have when I go haha that's for sure. It's been about a month since her appt and they both still remind us to floss.

Halloween time

I tried to find matchy/themed costumes this year but just decided to do what the kids wanted/were into the most. Syd was strawberry shortcake, Ty was a meerkat of course and Wyatt was a cow just as his older siblings were their first year. We had our neighborhood dinner together then started off. We walk very slow but we got lots of candy. Syd requested to stop early so she could start eating it and Ty asked to go out for more so daddy took him out. He said he took him too far cause he had to carry him home on his shoulders while Ty licked a lollipop into his hair haha. It was a great night!

How cute is this little meerkat. We safety pinned his meerkats to him and it took him all night to realize he didn't have to hold onto them.

I left my little one's to Grammy, Aunt Helen and daddy's care for a long weekend to go and meet some amazing women I've been talking to online for about 5 years now. It was such a fun trip. Kinda felt like a blind date but thankfully the "date" worked out great. We all had a blast....I mean who wouldn't in New Orleans. Brought the kids home some fun big easy gifts. All free!!! Gotta love this age of satisfying.

Well at least it hasn't been so long that the season has changed. I don't think it's officially winter for another couple of weeks :) Lots has been going on. My time at home full time has ended as of this week. I really loved being a full time stay at home. It's so wild to think it's the last time I'll "go back to work." We're all adjusting slowly. Having Grammy and Grandpy here to watch the kids in Dec is a for sure plus and helps us adjust back slowly.

Ok so let's think back to mid to late October. We have a pumpkin farm right down the street from us so we took the kids and Aunt Helen to check it out. This was the first year they did pumpkins as they usually just do xmas trees in December. Got some token pumpking pics with the kids.

I am never on time with these but we shoved his long big body in his 3 month onesie. Wyatt is about 15lbs now and off the chart in height. It's crazy to think he's most likely gonna pass up Syd and Ty in height.

Pumpkin Patch time

Went to a pumpkin farm this weekend and it ended up being a beautiful day so it was pretty crowded but we had lots of fun. It wasn't a u pick this year but I got a groupon so it was worth it. There were pony rides, corn maze, tractor driving, cotton candy and lots of farm animals. Seeing a baby pig is just not cute...they stink and are gross but the kids loved them. There were also geese and they would honk so loud that Tyler would turn around to me and start crying. Poor guy thought they were honking at him :)

We've finally moved Wyatt into his own room so he is in Tylers old room and Tyler is in with Syd. It's been interesting and super cute. They get so excited to get into bed and then they laugh and talk and giggle until mommy or daddy go in with a firm voice announcing NOT another WORD!! It works most times but when I go in there and check on them later on and they are sleeping it's priceless. They are such best friends right now and I pray it last throughout the years.

9 years and counting..... Scott and I went out for dinner in between feedings then got some salted chocolates and a coffee then raced home to baby. It was a great anniversary. Can't wait till 10....we may stay out longer than 2 hours :)

Towards the end of September Wyatt got into the bumbo for the first time. He really liked it, although he spits up way more than when laying, and felt like he was part of the fam sitting up. He is pretty cute!! Then everyone got a turn.

Now when Ty was about 6 months he couldn't fit in this bumbo cause his legs were too chunky. I'd say he's thinned out some.

Craft time without Aunt CCDC or Crischelle

Aunt CCDC had a great idea to make little bird feeders with peanut butter and pinecones. So we got everyone's shoes on, our buckets empty and went for a walk to collect our pine cones. We got back and sat down to make our bird feeders. Now, I'm pretty sure the kids ate more peanut butter and bird seed than one would have preferred but it was fun for all and even tasty. Syd did at one point tell me she didn't like the taste of bird seed. Ty on the other hand was fine with it.

Scott did it last year with Syd and this year he's started doing a once a week swim class with Tyler. Tyler LOVES it and gets very excited about going. They do a lot of singing and splashing around and Ty does the splashing and just stares at everyone during the singing. One day this little dude is just gonna start singing and talking non stop, we're just waiting.....

Scott left for Licoln, Nebraska for a Husky football game so reinforcements arrived to Seattle to hang out with their favorite sister/cousin and help survive the 4 days. It was so much fun and as I know they were ready to go home I was so grateful and had such a blast spending that time with them!!! The kids were on the go at all times, as to keep everyone on their toes. First day of preschool

Well we read all the what to expect books that we could find in regards to preschool and prepared her as much as we could for her first day. She woke up and the first thing she said was "It's the first day of preschoooooool!!!" She was so excited and after week 2 remains very excited for school. It's so nice for her to get some socialization and outside of the house some and so nice for me to spend some quality time with Tyler (no I don't ignore Wyatt). The first day I picked her up she ran up to me jumped in my arms and gave me a big hug with a smile. I mean how could you ever forget that moment!!

August good times

The remaining month of August was a good one. We officially have summer so it's always nice to get some warm weather before the rain and darkness show up for the next 10 months. The kids spend most of their life outside so we're gonna have a tough transition when it's too cold/rainy but that's ok, they are Seattlelites so will get use to it. Wyatt is doing great. He's such a sweet little guy and prefers it quiet around especially when eating. He's not a fan of someone jumping right in his face and yelling HI BABY!!!! Shocking right? I try to explain that to the kids but like you might guess it doesn't work. Tyler is a talking machine now yet he still likes to skip the first letters of words so it can be tricky to understand him. For example, "uck" could mean truck, clock, stuck etc etc...you get the idea :) Sydney is 3. We've got some serious attitude and independent issues going on. Oh man she tries our patience but thankfully she is pretty cute otherwise. She loves to play dress up, and the imaginary world is expanding by the day. We have two imaginary friends, Dedra and Dollah. They go with us most places and we make sure not to forget them. Love to all!

Kinda a fun comparison of the kids at 2 months old. Looks like little Wyatt is not so little.....my grocery bill is gonna be insane I feel..... Wyatt's 2 month appt went great, healthy as a horse and she called him a trick baby and asked me how long it will take to be pregnant again. I looked at her with eyes that read NO WAY IN HELL will there be a baby #4. She nodded and said got it haha.

Lots of new things last week....

Our biggest new thing of course was my sweet boy turning 2 but he'll get his own post to come. Syd had a dance camp last week. A bit premature as we didn't even do Friday's class and therefore didn't see the recital. Something happened that I'll never know that created a meltdown I don't want to leave mommy moment. I decided not to force the issue since it's just dance camp. Hopefully we don't see this behavior during preschool. We'll see.... Oh so many mommy moments to come.... Wyatt had his first bottle with his daddy. So far Wyatt is not a fan of bottles but we're working on it. I've told him that mommy will eventually go to work so he should probably start to embrace it. We'll see. And lastly you'll see a video of Syd and her new "trick." I'd like to say we got her to stay in that crib for 38 months so I'm proud for that. Now a whole new beginning of big girl bed has begun. We have a clock in her room that has a sleeping bunny and an awake bunny and we've told her that she can't come out of bed until the awake bunny lights up. So far so good for mornings. Naps on the other hand are a whole new ball game. I won't give up though, naps are a must for all parties of the Herzog household including mommy.

Crazytown update

July has come and gone and daddy is back to working again. I will say it was an amazing month having all 5 of us home. I wish we could win the lottery now so we could make it permanent. The kids are doing great with Wyatt. now that daddy is back to work it's a bit of an adjustment for all of us (mommy the most haha) but we are adjusting well. Sydney is a good little helper but has a sassy side to her these days that we are hoping to kibosh quickly through this year 3. Tyler is all about pushing buttons. "Tyler don't push".....Tyler pushes then looks at you and smiles then runs off. So time outs are something we do more of than not these days. Wyatt is a sleeping champ. He's going about 6 hours at night between feedings so I feel like I've been blessed with the sleeping fairy. Love to all

Meet our newest addition to the Herzog clan. Minus our short lived Nicu stay it was a smooth birth and I even got some sleep in prior to my water breaking. It's really nice to be home and getting settled. It's hard to envision a new normal but over time I'm sure we'll get there. I am officially a momma of 3 beautiful children. Scott and I are truly blessed, we could not have asked for anything more than our 3 healthy little beans. We feel very complete!

Father's Day

I'm awful...I got one picture for father's day.....and none were daddy with his children. Ok everyone take a mental picture...........ok there ya go :) Per daddy he had a great day. We first let daddy sleep in and played "quietly" downstairs. We got him a homemade coffee mug and let him read the paper in peace. We then did what every full term pregnant woman wants to do with two kids......attended the WA State Brewery Festival haha. Daddy had a great time researching all the beers there and sneaking away to try as many as possible. After that we all came home, napped then headed to a burger joint for dinner. All in all it was a great day for daddy. Happy Father's Day!!!

It's little lady's birthday today. We woke up to her yelling through the monitor "It's my birthday, It's my birthday." She was ready for presents before Scott and I had even had our coffee...... Thank you to everyone who sent her a little something or was here to celebrate with us. She had a very special day...well it was more like a good week as we got a box delivered for her for quite a while which is always fun!!

Well we don't have many pictures of this weekend since daddy and I got to have a kid free weekend thanks to the ever so awesome Great Aunt Helen. The kids had so much fun with her going to the park, cat park, listening to loud trains and visiting family and friends. Every year around Memorial Day we try to make it down to a festival downtown. It's kinda the start to spring/summer time. Seattle has a ton of festivals during the summer so we try to get down to a few of them and check em all out. Kids had a great time running around like crazies eating not so good for you food :)

Well it was our first live childrens show and it was tons of fun for the kids. They were so mesmorized by the whole experience it was pretty cool to watch through their eyes. Syd was glued to the stage the entire time and Ty was off and on with the stage and all the surrounding lights. If you didn't know Ty has a thing with lights..... Anywho, it was a great time. We got to see all of our favorite characters: Elmo, Abbey, Grover, Big Bird, and on and on. Mommy is exhausted but it was all well worth it.

Mothers Day fun

Had a wonderful Mother's Day with the family. We started the day with Syd making my chai in the morning. I heard the vacuum later so must have losts some in the process haha. Daddy made me breakfast in bed and the kids were so lovely to help me eat it. We all got dressed and headed to an awesome brunch spot. The kids did great and ate more pancakes than Scott and I both. We stuffed our faces then headed home for a quick nap. Later that evening we played outside and daddy BBQ'd. It was a great day to be blessed as a mamma.

Pretty sure Scott's kids will bleed purple blood before he's done with them :) It was the Husky football spring game. We all got up, got dressed in our purple and headed down to the stadium. They had the practice field all set up for the kids and boy did the kids have a blast. Syd was so excited it was her first football game, she is her daddy's girl for sure. They actually sat through about 2.5 hours all happy watching the game. We did bribe with some serious snacks and hot dogs. A great day had by all Husky fans.

This time of year is always tons of fun because the kids get CANDY. We got lots of fun boxes in the mail from Nana, Aunt CC and Aunt Helen. We loved it all and it's so exciting to get a box in the mail. It's always so disappointing when it's just mom's diapers she ordered for us :( We got to spend Easter with Grammy and Granpy and even got one good day of weather so had extra fun. On Easter we got all dressed up and headed to church then a special easter egg hunt afterwards.

San Diego Trip - early March

What can I say....I know it's been a while so let's get started with what we've been up to. Early March we went on a family trip to San Diego. It was soooo much fun and the kids had such a great time. One of the best pieces was just the weather. It's been so awful here that having some sun in SD was amazing. The kids I think forgot who the sun actually was haha. We did lots of fun things. Sea World was a huge hit. Syd still to this day will do the Shamoo chant just randomly...Shamoo Shamoo, it's very cute and the other day she asked me to go to the Shamoo park. If only we could, that would be an awesome place to have a membership too. We spent a lot of time just hangin out with cousins and family which is always great fun. It's so hard to be far apart so I think we made the best of it while there. I even did some dancing with the Wii....nothing cuter than dancing while prego...insert eyeroll. More to come but here are a few pics to enjoy.

Ty's Baptism weekend

It was Tyler’s baptism weekend and it was a great success. We had lots of family in town and friends were able to come as well. We were very thankful to have those that love Ty there to celebrate his special day, even if just by thoughts J We went to the church and Ty wasn’t too sure what in the world was going on but we reassured him we’d be with him the whole time. Scott introduced us all on stage and then read a Bible verse in honor of the occasion then we handed Ty to Pastor George….well he wasn’t happy but only for a moment because when the water was dropped on his head he was like oh ok this is cool….kinda like a shower. Scott said they had practiced in the shower that morning so he was just remembering what they practiced. He did great! Aftwards, we came back home to some lunch (with the help of Grammy and Aunt Helen) and ate and visited. And you can’t forget the cupcakes. Tyler loved his cupcakes that the cupcake assembly team did the night before. He ate the whole thing and ended up running around like a crazy-man the remainder of the day. All in all it was a great weekend and special day for the little dude. Thank you to everyone who helped make it special!

Well I can be slightly crafty when it’s the basics. The kids made some foam hearts and we decorated the windows and sliding doors with clings and foam hearts. They do love craft time I must admit. They are always proud when they complete their craft and love to watch me hang it up. Syd and I made peanut butter balls dips in chocolate and then with sprinkles...of course! She loved tasting those sprinkles as she sprinkled but it was our valentines day dessert we all got to enjoy together. Do you think they liked it??

Really what could be better than a big huge neon green truck that makes loud noises and with people that honk, yell high and back up with a sound. Life really couldn’t be much better. It’s our highlight on Friday mornings. The trash guys are the best, they are always the same guys and always play it up for the kids. Love it!!

First hair cut

Got Tyler’s first hair cut and it’s so blond that you can’t really tell but with the wings and potential mullet growing it was time to get it cut and had to do it fun like Syd’s first haircut. So needless to say this was the kids last fancy (aka $$) haircut on the docket. Ty did really great, in fact loved it. He got lots of attention and played with lots of toys his sister didn’t steal so really what could be better….

I'd say we had a quite January but really we didn't. I will say I'm glad to get all of the xmas decor down and put away, I have my house back which is nice. The kids are crazy as ever and we got to find out that baby #3 (aka Baby Finale) is a boy. We're super excited, either would have rocked but it's just nice to know. Do you hear that sisters-in-law??? It's NICE to know ;) It was a little sad to realize all those cute adorable baby girl clothes won't be worn again but figured if I get an itch I'll just put #3 in them for a quick picture. The kids also began gymnastics class for about 10 weeks. I figure after 10 weeks I'm gonna be large and less mobile so not a lot of jumping on the trampoline or into the pit. Syd is taking her first big girl/without mommy class and I wasn't sure how she was going to do but she loves loves loves it. She loves her coach and even wears big girl panties while doing it which of course we talk about often and sing and cheer all about it. Ty is getting better each week. You'll see below a meltdown picture on not wanting to follow any sort of direction except Ty's direction so that's always fun. Every week though he starts to get it more and more and really likes it. It's fun being able to do with him just him and I. He doesn't get a lot of mommy/Ty time so this is really fun for us. What will really be nice is one day they'll all be old enough to take a solo class and mommy can sit back, read a book and just chill out and take pictures......ok back to reality haha. Christmas Day

Christmas day has finally arrived and there are some serious gifts under the tree. The kids did really well opening them for a bit then it was hard to stay focused. Ty was so exhausted afterwards he had to take 2 naps. We couldn't open stockings until later that evening. It's hard to be 17 mos and keep up with his sister, which is his goal in life. We had a great xmas and were so happy to spend it with everyone and that daddy didn't have to work!

First gift = book. There was some movement out there to see how many kids could open and read a book as their first present. We opened it first but I wouldn't say we read it all the way. Shoulda picked a shorter book.

Christmas Week

We had a wonderful Xmas Week with the Herzog family. Our most favorite guest was baby McKenzie. She hung just fine with her cousins and they were very sweet to her to welcome her to the house.

Elf Magic - Snowflake, Jingle and Tinsel to be

This year we decided to introduce something called Elf Magic. For those that don't know, these are elves that Santa sends us from the North Pole to help increase the excitement and anticipation of Santa coming to town. Syd and Ty received their elves this year and sure it may have been more for my experience but next year they'll get it a bit more. At night Snowflake and Jingle would sneak out of their cribs and cause mischief in the night. That part Syd didn't quite understand so maybe next year. Needless to say I stopped throwing crackers on my floor at night haha. Ty could care a less about it all but we did take time out this evening to name our elves, even baby #3's elf. It was fun and we look forward to next year doing it all over again.
