Baby Sydney

Ok so there is this thing where you can be what they call an OB Model where you sign up to volunteer to get a 4D ultrasound through Phillips or Seimens. Well Seimens called me and asked if I'd like to come in and get a 4D picture. I said of course and free is always more of an incentive. They are basically testing out new programs on their machines and need "models" to test them on, so I can now officially said I've done some modeling haha.
Now keep in mind she is LITTLE and as of today she is about 2lbs so she's got lots of growing left to do. But she is precious and I can't hardly wait to see her. It's amazing what technology can do.
Here is a little short video of her moving around. See if you can find her little hand, which is what is moving the most. She just loves it next to her face.

BabyMoon

Sorry took so long to update. We've officially had our BabyMoon and it was a great time. We spent it in Friday Harbor and it was pretty quiet on the island since it was their offseason. We stayed at a wonderful B&B and their breakfast was amazing. It was a 4 course meal and I've never been so full after breakfast before in my life. During the day we went hiking, walking and of course threw the ball for Lucy-Belle a ton. After our adventures out we went came back into town and we'd have lunch. I enjoyed an in room massage which was absolutley wonderful and then a facial the next day. I got my pampering in that is for sure :) It was pretty crazy because at night the entire town shut down by about 8pm at the latest so finding a dinner spot was tricky. We got lots of great suggestions from the locals so we stayed away from the tourist spots which was a great adventure. This last picture is from a wonderful place we ate on our last night. It was pretty crazy as we got back on the ferry to come home that we had just had our little babymoon and our next trip would be with a baby in the family.

Just INSANE!!!

Week 24

Well it's week 24 and all the sudden pop goes baby girl. We've also officially finalized her name. Daddy went back and forth but we are excited to announce that baby salsa is now officially Sydney Estelle Herzog. We are very excited and just makes it oh so real to finally have a name instead of salsa or V.

She's getting stronger every week I can feel and had my first alien like moment a few days ago. She's in there just toss and turning and seems to like to be awake at night and asleep off and on during the day. I can only hope she'll switch that thought when decides to join us :)

Scott and I are off to Friday Harbor for our BabyMoon so we'll have lots of pics to share next week. We're staying at a Bed and Breakfast for 3 nights and just plan on relaxing, going for lots of walks, watching movies, eating yummy food and of course playing lots of ball with Lucy-Belle. Will let you all know how it was when we get back.
Love to all
Scott, Sarah and Syndey!!!!!

Week 22

Had a doctor's appt this week and it was very boring which is what we like the best. I've gained about 6 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight so I'm moving up in the world. My belly I feel like is getting bigger everyday and baby is kicking up a storm in here. She reassures me everything is ok quite frequently.

We've started the registry and man it is way more work than I expected. So many decisions to make but I've figured out that daddy to be would rather me make the decisions cause it's all so overwhelming when he looks at it all. So I figure saves us all some time haha. I've got tons of suggestions from people that it helps out when I just can't seem to decide.

We are also getting really super close to deciding on a name. I think we've got the first and now just working on the middle. Can't wait to tell everyone!!

In Feb, we've decided to go on what we call a 'babymoon.' All my girlfriends say to go somewhere fun before the baby comes. So I think we're either going to go to Victoria or the San Juans for a long weekend. We've found a few places we can take Lucy-Belle so should be fun and relaxing and will fit some spa time in as well...of course.

As I look at this pic here on my right it reminds me how high she really is. She's been kicking me more and more in the ribs and less and less down low. She's also been making me feel like I can't breath deep breaths at times as well. A little scary seeing I have 18 weeks left..... :)

Scott and I are taking yoga once or twice a week lately and I'm really liking it. I tried pre-natal but it's too boring at this point. Will maybe move to that in another month or so. We have a great instructor that gives me tips on what to do if I can't do some things so it's a great workout. We're also walking during the weekend and I"m really looking forward to spring so I can start walking after work but it still gets dark so fast.

More to come, we're getting really excited. I just can't wait to meet her and see what she looks like and what she'll be like and to snuggle with her...ughhh 18 weeks and counting. Love to all!!

Week 19

It's Week 19 and 6 days and daddy finally felt me kick. His face lit up like the sun. I kick mom all the time so I'm not sure why he's just now feeling me. But either way I'm so glad, now he knows I'm for real and mom can start working on her names she has picked out.

Here is a belly pic at 19.5 weeks. At about 18 I finally started to pop some so yeah it's about time!!!

Here is daddy being silly showing his belly at 19.5 weeks after eating all my leftovers :)

We also got such a fun gift from Great Aunt Helen today in the mail. Aunt Helen when Scott opened this I was at work and his reaction was priceless. He thought it was just soooo cute, the daddy one that is. On the back of the I love daddy shirt, it has a little heart on the butt that says "and daddy loves me." I love it, he's really starting to enjoy this process. It's not all toast and cereal anymore haha. We'll post next week some of the cute things we got from Christmas to show off. Until then.....

Week 18 - And it's a.........

GIRL!!!!!!!...............

We can hardly believe it. Although she has had some pretty decent attitude already with the sickness she gives me but other than that I thought for sure it was a boy. The ultrasound appt went great, they say that Baby Girl is measuring up really well. We are so excited, would have been for a boy or a girl but it just makes it so much more real when you know I think. 22 more weeks to go and I'm ready (not really) to just have her in my arms. So exciting!!!

Also, had a wonderful xmas with the Herzog family. It was nice to be home and eat lots of yummy goodies all day. Lot's to be blessed for!!!

Week 13-17 - Still holding on strong!!

Thought I'd start a blog for Baby Salsa so friends and family can check in at anytime to see the latest. I copied the idea from my sister-in-law, Susan, cause it is so nice to see her boys whenever we want to. I'm new at this so will try to keep up at least once a month if not more.

Week 13 - Went on my first plane trip to Little Rock. Mom was a bit nervous for the red eye because I've been making her pretty sick lately but it was a decent flight with minimal sickness. Mom and dad were so happy to finally be there where they got to meet the new Baby Winston. He is such a sweet boy and is pretty darn cute especially for a newborn. He loves to snuggle and take naps, although not so much for Katherine. It was pretty sad to leave but both Nana and Katherine have been really good about sending pictures on a regular basis. They are so technical these days.... :)

Week 14 - Had our first doctor's appointment today with our new doctor. She seems really great although she told me she expects me to gain about 10 pounds in the next month. Ummm....huh..... I don't think Baby Salsa is going to allow that as I am still getting sick in the morning. I've moved from needing toast to cereal with LOTS of milk though which is nice. Doc says I'm growing some bones this month so trying to get lots of extra calcium. Scott is sure to bring me a nice big bowl before getting out of bed to ensure it stays down. So far so good....

Week 15-16 - Not much going on here. I'm not getting as sick as I was, I went a whole week and only got sice 3 times, amazing huh!! My belly isn't really doing much yet so no belly pictures but hopefuly soon. I'm ready to start showing.

Week 17 - Did I feel the baby?? I'm not totally sure but it felt like some knocking going on from the inside. It was quick and about 4 times then that was it. Scott and I are going with that was the baby so it was very very exciting. Later that week I've started to feel like someone was picking up my stomach and dropping it so I'm pretty sure now I'm feeling the baby. It's amazing, I want to feel it all the time!!
