Tyler Gerald Herzog has arrived

Well baby boy has finally arrived into the world and we are so excited to have him. We got a call on Wed morning from our nurse saying she was ready for us to come in and be induced (12 days post due date). We checked in at about 10am and had pitocin dripping by 10:45. Contractions started up but just weren't painful enough the doc said so she broke my water. She said by accident but whatever works I say and let me tell you it worked for sure!! The contractions started hardcore and my nurse asked me whenever I wanted my epidural to say the word and within minutes I said the word :) I had my epidural by about 230 and by 430 I was 10cm and ready to push. Such a different experience than Syd's 18 hour birthing plan. I started to push a bit after 5 and by 528 little Tyler was born. It was such a great experience, being very nervous to be induced after hearing so many not so good stories. But I think it helped that he was really ready to be born so it worked out well. He was 9lbs 2ozs and 20.5in long. He's very healthy with all fingers and toes and we're learning about eachother everyday. He's precious and his big sister is curious about him and likes to touch him every now and again. So far Syd's adjusting well to the change in the house....and we are hoping that only continues. Grandma and grandpa were here until Sunday and nana and papop are still here. Papop leaves tomorrow and nana is here through the middle of next week. I'm still not sure how I will do this solo but figure I'll face that when the time comes and just take advantage of the help that I have now. More to come of course as we go. Love to all and thank you to all of you for your calls/emails/texts/etc.

Love S&S&S&T

Beach time

Had a great weekend of just hanging out the 3 of us. We went to the beach on both days this weekend and Syd had a great time in the lake and loved to just walk around and explore. It was great having daddy there so he could walk around with her and I could lay like a beached whale haha. Enjoy

40 weeks and waiting

Here is the sad only belly pic I've taken this pregnancy. It's true they say the 2nd one doesn't get as much attention as the first....already haha. Anywho, will keep everyone posted but still a cookin baby for now.

Baby Tylers Baby Shower

Kelsy and Vick threw me a baby shower for little Tyler that doesn't want to show his face. It was so wonderful to just chill out and hang with the ladies and have some fun. Thank you to all my wonderful girlfriends!!! This child is ready for diapers and other fun things. Oh and we played a fun game (thank goodness I didn't have to eat it) where we picked partners and had to feed baby food to them, the fastest won. Talk about gross haha

Hurt elbow

So I just finished taking Syd to the pool with her Aunt Kelsy and we had to walk up some stairs....well instead of picking her up I just grabbed her little arm and pulled her up the stair.....well big mistake cause out pops her elbow...screaming child, drama to it's fullest. We went to the doctor and she tried to adjust it back into place. Well we think it helped some but not completely cause she would not use her left arm at all. Poor little lady and talk about trying to make momma feel guilty to it's fullest :) We ended up having to go to the doc another time and then after 3 days our doc said to go to Childrens Hospital to have it xrayed to ensure it's nothing more major since she's till not using it. Well the minute we walked into Childrens she started using her arm again like nothing had ever happened. Typical of my little drama queen. Here is a video as it's doing better where she just won't humor me and use her arm.

Herzog 4th of July

We had all the Herzogs up to the house to celebrate the 4th of July. It was a great success and almost everyone was there. It was great to see Jeff, Susan and the kids and Lindy and Justin as well. Thanks to those who traveled, we know it was a long trip. We ate, played ping pong, beer/water shoes, and just enjoyed eachothers company. Hopefully we'll make it a tradition so we see the fam that is so close more often :)

Claridy Visit

Had a wonderful time with the Claridys. Those boys can sure keep a crowd busy. We ventured off for some great adventures. Here is the stuff that I'm sure they quickly forgot about as you'll see towards the end of the post.
We went to Red Robin where Sean was a food critic and got both him and Glynn a free dessert!

Then we hit up the Seattle Aquarium for some fun. Syd had a great time staring at everything in sight. The boys had a great time running through as fast as possible although not as fast as when they came a few years ago so we're doing better :)
Uncle Scott was able to take a few days off and vetured out with us to the Pacific Science Center. We had a great time and Syd even had a section for her age so she could get out and run around.

There is a little roller coaster outside of the science center and Sean was SO excited to ride the roller coaster but he was too short to ride it :( So sad watching him walk towards it with his hands in his pockets. If only he were a smidge taller...

After the science center we needed to endure some good grub so we went to the Crab Pot and put our bibs on and ate more crab than we could endure. I think Michael and myself worked harder than actually ate trying to get the crab meat out for the boys but it was lots of fun and to top it off got dessert in the end :)
We also went to the lake one afternoon, I think the coldest afternoon of all but the boys wanted to swim. Needless to say we didn't stay long at all :)

Ok and last but not least we took the boys to a Mariners game. They are really into baseball these days so it was a big deal. We explained to them that if we go early we may or may not be able to catch some practice balls and get an autograph. We tried to tell them that the odds were really slim and to not get your hopes up...yeah right. So needless to say they boys went with huge eyes and gloves ready to catch and a pen ready to sign. Well they really lucked out cause they got an autograph ball AND they caught a practice ball. Life is good I tell ya. It was a fun night for sure, one to erase really anything else we'd done earlier that week haha
